I just found out today that a long time friend Jon Barr passed away. He had been sailing in a catamaran and was bringing it in to dock when the mast hit a powerline. He was taken to a hospital where they amputated both of his legs below the knees to remove the dead tissue there, but apparently complications set in and he passed away yesterday.
If you know Jon, or even if you didn't, please pray for his family and the repose of his soul.
O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of thy servant Jonathan, and grant him an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of thy saints; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, on God, now and for ever. Amen.
