It struck me, as I was talking to Mom last night, that there's some Brie-stuff that we probably haven't blogged about. So, here goes What Brigid Elizabeth Is Doing These Days:

Brigid has a new smile, and we think it's courtesy of her new teeth. She sucks in her lower lip and then smiles. The effect is like a really cute chipmunk or old lady sans dentures. The cutest version then turns into an open grin with her tongue sticking out.

Said teeth are beginning to show when she talks - they're both all the way out of her lower gums now.

Brie stands up LOTS. Very often she's not happy with sitting, and will either stiffen her legs when we try to put her down, or, if we get her down, will grab whatever is in reach and try to pull herself up on it. If it's too tall, she'll just hang on doggedly, and maybe suck whatever it is - which makes it look like she's hanging on with hands AND mouth.

Small things are, and have been for awhile, very fascinating. She likes things the size of her pacifier or smaller (which, of course, she's only given under VERY close supervision) to turn over and over in her hands. I think it's finger-practice.

Her babbling is beginning to take on intonation at times. It's not just "Ba-ba-ba", it's "Ba, ba BA BA BA, ba ba." She has a very cute tired, complaining babble that goes on FOREVER - as if she can't be sleepy without telling us about it (except she can - she forgets).

Her hair is gloriously long - her forelock has never fallen out, and now, if brushed straight down is below her eyebrows, but she usually wears it brushed to the side. And a new layer of fuzz has begun to grow underneath, so it's getting thicker.


That's all I can think of for now - she's our delight.
