Twang, THWAP!

Ah, the sounds of archery. I went over to the new, spanky range that they have set up here on campus and shot for half an hour over my lunch break. The sound of the string thrumming, followed shortly by a nice, meaty thump as the arrow hits the target. Or, alternately, the sound of the string thrumming, followed by nothing, followed briefly by trudging over to the back-stop and collecting the arrow that is obviously bent, or else it would have gone where you aimed it. Stupid arrow.

And I saw a cricket which reminded me of the kids book A Cricket in Times Square. Although it didn't crick once.
