yay drugs!

Brie is now on steriods (like they give asthma patients) to help her breathe tonight and antibiotics, just in case it isn't actually croup.

Our doctor's office told us that they couldn't see us, but just as we were in the car in the driveway on the way to the urgent care center instead, Christa ran out with the phone. It was the doctor's office calling us and saying that they'd take us right now if we got there. Strange, but we thought, okay, we'd much rather see a doctor who knows us, so we went to Dr. A's office instead of off to the urgent care center.

The nurse at Dr. A's explained it to us. Apparently what the front desk asked her was if Dr. A. could fit in "someone with a cough". This being a lame reason to push to the front of the line, they said no. But when she went back up to check on stuff, she read our actual message, and exclaimed, "You didn't TELL me it was a child! You didn't TELL me she was having trouble BREATHING. OF COURSE we can fit her in!"

So hurray for wonderful Nurse G! It was really good to get to see our own doctor. And hopefully the meds will help Brie not to have another croupy attack tonight. We also have her on Tylenol to keep her fever down - it keeps creeping up as each dose wears off.

So please pray for our girl, but praise God that we were able to get her in to get help today!

-Jess
