Ah me, I've found another fictional Englishman to follow on adventures. Joining Brother Cadfael and Lord Peter is Mr. Julian Kestrel, who solves mysteries not in medieval England nor in post-WWI England, but in Regency England.
He's written by Kate Ross, and the two books I've read so far are "Cut to the Quick" and "Whom the Gods Love". I have another two on request from the library.
He is NOT Lord Peter, but if you enjoy the Lord Peter mysteries or the Brother Cadfael mysteries, you'll probably like the Julian Kestrel mysteries. I feel slightly bereft upon finishing them, because what am I to do with my free time now?
