Brigid has a new trick that I should have blogged about long ago, but you know how it is.

A week or so ago, while putting Brie to bed, I decided to try something. I told her "Okay, close your eyes while we pray." It didn't take, and I wasn't too surprised, but I figured it was worth it.

The next night I said the same thing to her, and to my surprise she scrunched up her eyes like she was in deep thought and kept them that way until I was done praying, at which point she mumbled "anum!" through her binkie ("Amen") grinned at me, and I put her to bed. So now, whever we're about to pray over a meal or whenever, we hold her hands and tell her "Okay, close your eyes," and she does.
