I was very much in labor. And now I have a bright blue-eyed son who:
-can reach for his toys and put them in his mouth, even if they cause him to spit them out against instantly because of their objectionable taste
-can sit up if you hold onto his hips
-tries to sit up when he's set down on his back on a pillow - it looks like he's doing mini-crunches!
-smiles joyfully whenever he finds another smiling face - even though his smiles are such whole-body actions that they cause him to lose sight of that other smiling face
-really, really, really likes to be sung to, and will sing back at you and with you with melodious cooes
-is just an amazing sleeper, God be praised!
-is very aural; he seems to hear everything and care about everything he hears
-has very cool hands and feet - long fingers and toes, but very sturdy-looking at the same time
-is close to doubling his birth weight
-has bright, bright blue eyes, did I mention that?
-has much thicker hair than he was born with, though the color is still hard to make out (will you be blonde, brunette or redheaded, Sam-boy?)
-likes his sister
-is always in motion
-can hold his head up when he's on his tummy - even if he's swaddled! (it's his Shamu-pose)
-has a smile that makes it hard to ever stop looking at him
I love you, Samuel! God grant you many many more months and many years in His service!
-Mom
