how he's four months old!
At four months, our boy is huge (16 pounds! For purposes of comparison: when Brie was a year old, she was 19 pounds), and smiley and communicative. He can grab things, he can imitate facial expressions, he can coo back and forth conversationally, he can hold his own weight on his legs and he can push up on his arms (he's a very good tummy-timer, and actually enjoys being on his tummy for ten-minute blocks of time). He hates loud noises, but love music. He likes having his Aunt Rho stand him up on her feet and "walk" him around the floor. He likes "this little piggie" and "the grand old duke of york" and "pony boy" - all very bouncy, giggly games. He's ticklish under his chin, and he puts everything in his mouth. He's very solid, in body and in personality, very hard to disturb (except aurally), and seems to be rather of the opinion that kids a year or two older than him are not too big for him to play with. He loves his sister, his dad and his mom, and will turn towards us when he hears our voices. He can sit up for a few seconds at a time and then will slowly topple over. If this topple takes him forward, he can pull himself back into a sitting position with his abdominal muscles.
He hates waking up and finding himself alone. He has bright blue eyes, and his downy brown hair is getting thicker, but not much longer. He's got long, capable-looking fingers like his dad. He likes to kick. He can make raspberries, and he does it in response to us making them at him.
we love our Sam!
