Emily and I ordered plants together (less shipping, more free gifts), and they shipped them "dormant". "Dormant" apparently means "they look dead, but we swear that if you plant and water them, they'll grow."
So, I'm off to perform an act of faith: I'm going to plant dead lavendar and periwinkle sticks as if they were alive, and water them if they were alive. But I don't think my faith extends far enough to pretend that they have pretty flowers. At least not yet.
