Brigid and Samuel were playing outside the other day, and our housemate, Melissa, was hanging out in the kitchen. Brie came inside and gave Melissa a flower. Aw, how sweet. A few minutes later (I was picking up the kids' room) I heard Melissa say, "Oh, Sam, thank you. You gave me . . . dirt."

Actually, considering how much Sam likes the stuff, it's a pretty high compliment.


Then, later, Brigid asked me, "Mom, was Cinderella named after St. Cinderella?" :) You can tell where we get girls' names in our family, right?
