We've had an eventful bunch of days here recently. Adam's dad came out to visit, meeting Jane and Kate for the first time. And Brie and Sam got LOTS of good grandpa-time, going to the zoo, going swimming, and playing lots of "nee-ha", a game of Brigid's and Dad S' invention. It was a really good visit.
And Micah and Jenn were out here too, so we got to have see all the cousins together, which was fun. We also got to attend Micah's ordination as a deacon, and it was a privilege to be present at the fruition of so many years hard work.
Brigid had her own little adventure: her first stitches. She was on her way back from the pool, and fell while wrapped up in her towel, unable to catch herself. She split her chin open and needed three stitches. Adam and Dad took her to Urgent Care (it was so good to avoid the ER!). The worst part for me was having to stay home with the younger three kids, and not getting to be there with my first baby. Brigid's worst part, according to Adam, was being told she couldn't go swimming for a week while it healed. Adam says she didn't cry at the anesthetic shot or at the stitching, but did cry when the PA gave her that sad instruction. My brave little girl.
Jane and Kate are sitting up now, but aren't quite ready to forgo the spotters. They can sit for forever if they're interested in something right in front of them, but when they turn to the left or the right, they topple over. But it's so fun to see them sit!
I think the crawling is getting closer and closer. They can now both do an effortful army crawl/scoot forward, and yesterday, Ekaterine made it up to her hands and knees, and was rocking.
