the beach

This weekend we went to the beach, and got to introduce Brigid to wading in the ocean.

To my delight, she loved it.

I was afraid that the waves were going to scare her, but instead of crying and running away when they splashed over her knees, she squealed and asked, "More? More?" and tried to walk further in.

She fell down several times, and I realized that she couldn't stand up against the current. But holding onto me, she stood and faced the waves, and squealed and grinned in delight, all while shivering with cold.

It was delightful. Adam stood by taking pictures and (by his report) getting water splashed up his kilt (brrrr!).

My daughter likes the ocean! I'm so happy.
