Because it means we have a loveseat that we don't much care about, so we let Brie happily pursue her new favorite past-time, which involves bouncing on said loveseat.

The name of this game, by the way, is "big down", which she came up with by herself. At first she was just climbing up and down, and narrating it as such, "up . . . down . . . up . . . down". Then she figured out that she didn't have to climb down, she could JUMP down. The sensation of jumping down impressed her enough that her narration turned into, "up . . . BIG down! . . . up . . ."
Currently, we are trying to teach her that this is an activity that requires parental supervision, simply for safety's sake. Luckily she's a quick learner, and these days she asks first. We think it's cool enough that we usually say yes, and stand there to catch her if necessary.
This is a benefit of secondhand furniture that I never foresaw.
