Things we have learned about Samuel this week:
1) He burps. His dad says he "herks". If you pat his back after feedings, the herking is less projectile vomit, and more cute little spit-up. We've learned to pat.
2) He's SuperBoy! If you lie down and put him on your stomach, he'll wriggle and kick and squirm up to your chin. He's already lifting his head up and looking around from this position.
3) He's mellow. When he does get mad, you'll know it, but it takes him a long while to get there. For example: when doing the aforementioned stomach squirming, we can tell that, like all newborns put on their stomachs, he's frustrated. But he doesn't give up and cry quickly, he just keeps working at it.
4) The above example makes me think he might be stubborn. Stubborn and mellow. Dudeling reminds me of his dad.
5) He's a knack for picking up nicknames. So far: "Samburger", "Samwise", "AweSam", "Baybee 'Nam", "Sam-I-Am" and "Little Man".
6) If you feed him almost continually for the two hours before bed, he'll sleep till 3:30 a.m. (Sam, we love this about you. Please keep it up.)
Other things you might want to know:
-He has jaundice, but minorly; the nurse said it was nothing to worry about. (Thank you for praying!)
-The REASON his shoulders got stuck during birth, which I forgot to mention, is because he descending so quickly that he only turned halfway, and came out headfirst but sideways (if that makes sense).
We love Sam.
