Meet Mr. Bumblebee

Brigid named her cool pink shoes that her grandma gave her. The right one is named Bumblebee, and the left one is named Ladybug. She bobs them up and down like puppets. "Hi Mommy," she says in her low, I'm-speaking-for-someone-else voice, "I'm Mr. Bumblebee." Then the other. "Hi Mommy," she says in her high, I'm-speaking-for-someone-else voice, "I'm Mrs. Ladybug."

Then she climbs up on our trunk. The shoes bob again, puppet-like. "Hi Mommy," they say, "We're going to jump off!"

And the shoes jump down, taking Brigid with them.
